burnout, and improve individual health.
PRECEDENTS & RESEARCH

Existing facilities have been created solely for the use of patients to ensure a calming experience. It is critical that staff recieve equal support.
Burnout is a condition caused by prolonged stress and high
demands within a workplace. Prevelant within hospitals since COVID - 19.
Opportunity to spend time outdoors will encourage
adequate breaks and reduce stress.
A retreat to reduce stress and prioritize employee wellness
I envisioned an outdoor restorative space that would transform the desolate state of the existing hospital patio and was able to bring my vision to life, presenting staff with the ultimate patio transformation.
By introducing various seating arrangements, shading options, and greenery, the outdoor patio became warm and inviting. The utilization of a custom separation piece designates the space its own and blocks direct views of the adjacent parking lot while still allowing in plenty of natural light.
